Scottish entrepreneur and former model launches new brand with revolutionary bodysuit
Ashly Rae says her patent-pending wardrobe staple is a world-first in comfort, style and support
(LONDON, UK – 28th January) Former Scottish model, actress and entrepreneur [Ashly Rae], who walked the runway for Victoria Beckham and insured her legs for £1m, has launched a new brand called Ashly Rae.
Her patent-pending ComfiClose™ design is set to revolutionise how people experience the bodysuit with an innovative closure that reimagines how the wardrobe staple should feel and fit.
Ms Rae, founder and creative director of Ashly Rae, said: “The brand was born out of a belief that modern fashion should not only make a statement but enhance your confidence. I’ve always been passionate about clothing that helps people feel their best and look elegant and I don’t think we should ever sacrifice comfort and confidence to achieve a certain style. Women deserve both.”
With a focus on inclusivity, functionality and performance, Ashly Rae sets out to create products that empower people to feel good in any environment.
With more than 20 years’ experience in the fashion industry as a model and brand owner, Ms Rae has a deep understanding of style and comfort, and her bodysuit is engineered to solve the problem of uncomfortable clasps and tight material that pinches and nips the skin.
Ashly explained more: “We’ve all experienced it; that love/hate relationship with the bodysuit. They are an ultimate wardrobe staple and can be worn with a skirt or trousers, but typical designs are uncomfortable and don’t get me started on the clasp in the crotch area!
“We’ve taken the humble bodysuit and evolved it with a seam free design, more support around the chest area, which means you don’t need a bra, and our unique ComfiClose™ clasp located below the tailbone to eliminate irritation.”
Having launched her first fashion label during lockdown, to address the need for more positive sizing in the industry, Ms Rae said that Ashly Rae is a culmination of everything she learned over the past five years including customer feedback on previous bodysuit styles and how women want to feel in their clothing.
“I am proud of what we are creating at Ashly Rae and the ComfiClose™ design is a real labour of love. My hope is that people will walk with more confidence because they feel good in our clothing and for those who find bodysuits uncomfortable, I hope they develop a newfound love for this classic wardrobe item.”
The bodysuit can be purchased exclusively on the Ashly Rae website and is available in black and heather grey with sizes ranging from 6 to 18.
